Pakistan: A-bombs aplenty, but no lights to see them by

Islamabad has refused to bow to US pressure and threats of sanctions, and has advanced plans for a gas pipeline from Iran, which could help ease Pakistans massive power shortage.

Pakistans power plants could satisfy the countrys energy needs if they had the money to pay for fuel, mainly oil and gas.

“It’s a tragedy that a country with atomic weapons is deprived of electricity and has no electricity for even 20 hours a day. How can a country develop in such a situation?” Pakistans Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said to RT.

Across Pakistan, countless people struggle to get by; the energy crisis means that businesses large and small are desperate for supplies.
