US military receives illegal order to invade Syria. Political discussions irrelevant to Obama.

TAP – What’s the idea ?  To get the Moskva to sink an aircraft carrier, and override Congress, forcing America into Israel’s war?  That should get WW3 started alright.  The navy should disobey such an illegal order, and go and arrest the person issuing it.

US Troops In Ft Hood Receive Orders To Deploy To Syria

By  on September 11, 2013

I have been able to verify something extremely troubling in the past 12 hours.  A close and verifiable source contacted me to lament the deployment of a friend from Ft. Hood to Egypt, where this particular soldier will be for the next nine months.  We have no military base in Egypt, so we’re all trying to understand the assignment and wonder if he and the other 400 soldiers are living in a tent in the desert, and if they are, how do they receive supplies, from everything to food, water, ammunition, and fuel to conduct whatever mission they are to fulfill, for I cannot imagine a C-140 being allowed to land at Cairo International. The following information has been sourced thoroughly.  This particular soldier said that while he was not really thrilled about the assignment to Egypt, it was better than the soldiers that remained at the military base BECAUSE THEY HAD JUST RECEIVED THEIR DEPLOYMENT ORDERS TO GO TO SYRIA.  That certainly contradicts the posturing and false reassurances and table-pounding of Obama and Kerry, does it not?
Of course, credibility should never enter the discussion when talking about this president.  If frogs get nourishment from eating flies, this pathologically dysfunctional misfit gets his lifeblood from telling lies.  It is the manner in which he is genetically coded and been brainwashed to operate.
The courteous words chosen by the media due to the vomit coming from the State Department is that the people involved in the civil war with Assad in Syria are “rebels” and “the opposition”, when in fact it’s a collection of warring, tribal jihadists composed of Hezbollah, Hamas, Al Qaeda, Ansar al-Sharia, Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb, and the Muslim Brotherhood, remember them?  They’re the group the Obama administration enabled to take over Libya and Egypt.  To put it tamely, just because they’re all radical Islamic groups does not mean they all get along.

Clearly, the gun running operation CIA operative (NOT Ambassador) Christopher Stevens oversaw out of the pseudo-embassy in Benghazi was funneling guns to the Muslim Brotherhood in Syria, which drew the ire of Ansar al-Sharia, which bears responsibility for the Benghazi attacks.  Clearly it is the jihadist group of his choice, as Obama tried his hand at yet another government-overthrow.  Now it becomes clearer why Susan Rice was sent out to lie to the press with an elementary school alibi, why Hillary Clinton screeched at a Congressional oversight committee, and why the surviving operatives of the embassy attack have been placed under deep cover and from whom we will never hear.  The administration was funding yet another proxy war with a poorly conceived operation and it blew up in its face.Obama and Kerry have operated under the misconception that Americans are too ignorant to realize other, sophisticated G-7 countries have intelligence gathering techniques that rival or exceed ours, and that is why the likes of Great Britain, Russia, Israel, and Germany, among others, summarily dismissed his intentions to attack Syria at the G-20 Summit in Russia last week.  In fact, Germany’s Der Spiegel just released copies of certain intelligence intercepts this morning proving the Assad did NOT authorize the use of chemical weapons and in fact was strongly opposed to doing so.  Its intelligence gathering clearly shows that the use of nerve gas was by one of the rag-tag rebel groups, instead.  Gee, I can’t imagine the Muslim Brotherhood resorting to such barbaric techniques, can you?
Watching the Obama administration is like watching the mini-car pull into the center ring at the circus, and out comes one clown, after another, after another, after another.
Putin gains huge political capital for seizing on Kerry’s loose tongue, Kerry inadvertently presented an opening against his bosses wishes for military action, and Obama comes across as a more disorganized and weak president, not only domestically, but equally if not more damaging, internationally as well.
And don’t forget:  the man who lied about gun running to the Mexican cartels, IRS targeting, the contents of the health care bill, NSA eavesdropping, is the same psychopath that assured Americans there would be “no boots on the ground”, and that it will be a very small, strategic attack.
Why, then, do soldiers at Ft. Hood already have in hand their deployment assignments to go to Syria?

Caracas, Venezuela. Water costs more than gasoline.

Polluted Lake Spawns Water Crisis In Venezuela; Water Now Pricier Than Gasoline

Wary of the highly polluted lake that supplies their tap water, people in Caracas are paying the equivalent of $4.80 for a five-gallon water jug ― twice the price of gasoline.
Lake Mariposa, located five miles away from the capital, has become a favorite spot for followers of Santería, who dump not only garbage but also sacrificed animals. Not long ago, Bloomberg reported, the carcass of a dead dog was seen floating on the lake that supplies tap water to 750,000 Venezuelans.
Those who practice Santería sacrifice animals during religious ceremonies.
The reservoir was last cleaned four years ago, unearthing dozens of animal carcasses, according to a councilor at the Los Salinas municipality interviewed by Bloomberg. Polluted and all, the lake water is pumped to a 60-year-old treatment plant that experts say lacks the technology to make it safe for drinking.
“The treatment process has not adapted to the steady degradation of the water source,” said Fernando Morales, an environmental chemistry professor at Simon Bolivar University in Caracas. “I wouldn’t use this water at home.”
Last week, a failure in Venezuela’s main power distribution network deprived 70 percent of the country of electricity for several hours.
Electrical Energy Minister Jesse Chacon said on state TV that the failure was in the &quotbackbone&quot that carries electricity from the Bajo Caroni region, where 60 percent of Venezuela’s power is generated.
Despite possessing the world’s largest proven oil reserves, Venezuela has been plagued in recent years by worsening power outages.
As for the water crisis, its roots can be traced back to the limited funds allocated to Hidrocapital, Caracas water monopoly. In 2010 Hidrocapital’s budget was $9.7 million, according to a report by the Environment Ministry. In 1998, a year before Hugo Chavez came to power, the state-owned company had an annual budget of $250 million, according to the company’s former vice president Norberto Bausson.
“Not a drop of water has been added to Caracas’ supply system in 15 years,” he told Bloomberg. “The network is falling apart.”

Obama’s Speech Changes No Minds in Congress

Sen. Levin Warns Against Public Opposition Stopping Syria War

Sen. Carl Levin (D – MI) has today warned against the overwhelming public opposition to a US attack on Syria actually stopping them from approving the war, saying Congress has to threaten to attack Syria in some form in a future resolution.
Levin’s comments echoed those of other hawks, but the reality is that public opinion is driving the votes, especially in the House, and his position has lost. Congress will not approve a war on Syria.
President Obama’s Tuesday night speech was supposed to be the decisive case for war, and it too has failed, with nary an opponent of the war swayed by the comments, even if they reinforced the position of the few hawks out there like Levin.
This week was to be the war party’s great victory, turning the tide of a war weary public as AIPAC threw its weight behind the war to ensure Congressional support. Ultimately, all of that has only increased public opposition to the war, and the defeat of the resolution in Congress is more apparent than ever, assuming the hawks ever bother to even attempt a vote. Six more Senators are now “no” votes, and four more in the House just since the speech, suggesting the momentum continues, but against the war.

Israel Rules Out Ratifying Chemical Arms Ban

Insists Syria’s Decision Won’t Change Their Policy

Syria has promised to sign the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) and the international community is working on a deal to destroy the nation’s considerable arsenal, meaning one of the world’s last holdouts on the ban is all but on board.
Hopes that this might get the rest of the holdouts to change their policy seems unlikely, however, as Israel has today insisted that Syria’s move will not change their opposition to the treaty.
Technically, Israel signed the CWC in 1993 like most of the rest of the world, but it never ratified the treaty, citing Syria’s arsenal. Without Syria as an excuse, Israeli Foreign Ministry officials now say they won’t ratify the deal until everyone else in the world signs a peace treaty with them.

Israel is believed to have some chemical weapons, but the reality is that they are a relatively minor risk compared to the nation’s massive, uncleared nuclear weapons arsenal. Israel has likewise ruled out signing the nuclear non-proliferation treaty

Israelis killed Mark Zygier, the Mossad agent who unwittingly gave away secrets of Lebanese informants

Israel to pay $1.1 million to family of “Prisoner X”

(Reuters) – Israel will pay $1.1 million to the family of alleged Mossad spy Ben Zygier, a dual Australian-Israeli national who hanged himself in prison three years ago, the Justice Ministry said on Wednesday.

Zygier, a Jew from Melbourne who moved to Israel, became a citizen and joined its army, was detained in 2010 but his case was kept under wraps until last February when an Australian television expose uncovered it. The reasons for his detention remain top secret in Israel and his family has not commented.

“The reasons the state agreed to pay this ($1.1 million) sum stemmed from its desire to avoid a court hearing in which details that could harm national security might be revealed,” the ministry said in a statement.

It said Zygier’s family had accused Israel of negligence in the so-called “Prisoner X” affair and had sought compensation.

Australia’s Fairfax newspapers and the German newsmagazine Der Spiegel reported last March that Zygier, working for Israel’s Mossad spy service, had unwittingly given away classified information about Lebanese informants, who were later arrested and jailed in Lebanon.

In December 2010, Zygier hanged himself in an isolation cell in Ayalon Prison near Tel Aviv that had been under 24-hour video surveillance.

Israeli authorities investigated his death and said last April that they had found a series of missteps by jail officials but no criminal negligence.

An official report into the suicide said Zygier had received “distressing news” from his wife just hours before hanging himself, but the jailer responsible for watching the video surveillance was away from the screen and missed the moments leading to his death.
